Modern encoding formats

Modern encoding formats

Over the past few years, because of the popularity of the internet and increasing speed of computers, several new formats have become very important.

Flash Video, MP4, Quicktime MOV, MPEG-1, MPEG-2, Real Media, DVB (MPEG-2 Transport Stream) are just a few of the formats supported by the MPEG Encoder SDK v6.

And for each format, we offer presets designed for devices like iPod, iPhone, VCD, SVCD and DVD.

Every update of the encoder keeps you up to date with the latest encoding technologies. Stay compatible with the future. Bet on a stable and reliable partner.

Video Capture

Video Capture

The Standard MPEG Encoder contains many optimizations to allow accurately perform video capture. Supported is internal software scaling, fast transformations, as well as frame rate correction to prevent audio-video desynchronisation when frames are dropped. New in the 6.0 version is audio gap correction, which fixes the rare problems of gaps in audio source, which can be a significant problem with Digial Video Broadcasts like DVB-T.

No royalties

No royalties

Our encoder is sold as a one-time cost. There are no further royalties neccessary to be paid to us.

Based on open source technology

Based on open source technology

The Standard MPEG Encoder core encoding routines are based on the popular and actively developed ffmpeg library.

This means that as encoding formats improve and mutate, the encoder moves steadily along, as the encoder is continuously being developed.

And we offer a source code license, so should your industry have very specific requirements, you can modify the code to meet your precise needs.

Refreshingly easy to use

Refreshingly easy to use

The API of the MPEG Encoder was designed to be as easy to use as possible without sacrificing the need to customize.

In most cases, you just need to instanciate the MPEG Encoder filter, add to the graph, then call a single function to load the preset that you want. This covers all common cases, from the iPhone format through to DVD and VCD.

In cases where you need to specify detailed settings (like GOP structure), simply retrieve the appropriate interface (clearly listed in our documentation), and set it. It’s that straightforward.

And when you cannot figure it out, pick up the phone and you can talk to the developers directly.

Presets for common needs

Presets for common needs

The Standard MPEG Encoder offers presets to load all common encoding formats like DVD, SVCD, MP4 iPod, Flash Video for the web and a lot more. If you want to customize the format, simply load the preset, then access the settings to change any aspect of the output file, from GOP length through to Bitrate Mode.

Low dependencies

Low dependencies

The Standard MPEG Encoder 6 does not have any runtime dependencies. There is no need to install any additional file on all platforms from XP upwards
